Where to find a barbecue

How a barbecue works

  • It cooks 3 stacks at once, with 4 slots for what comes out and 1 for the wood.
  • It burns one wood every 10s, 6 a minute, whatever is cooking.
  • Every piece of wood it burns has a 75% chance to leave a piece of charcoal behind.

The one you build yourself

The version you craft and place is the Barbeque, with the same 200 health as the monument one.

Item sheets: Wood and Charcoal.

Other monument machines: Green Recycler, Yellow Recycler, Red Recycler, Research Table, Repair Bench, Monument Workbench Level 1, Monument Workbench Level 2, Oil Refinery, Pumpjack, Mining Quarry, Water Catcher, Crude Producer, Giant Excavator, Junkyard Shredder, Magnet Crane and Power Grid.

How the monument Barbecue works in Rust

On procedural Rust server maps, Barbecue (200 structural rating) appears as 3 permanent world fixtures distributed across 3 monument compounds. Unlike player-built workshop furniture placed inside a private base, these public monument installations remain bolted to the map terrain across the entire wipe and can be operated by any visiting survivor without Tool Cupboard authorization.

Barbecue monument locations, grid stages and efficiency

Monument placement tables, fuel or material conversion rates, and base-deployable comparisons above document where Barbecue stands on every procedural map seed and how its public utility mechanics compare against player-crafted stations.

  • Map placement density (3 fixtures): Bolted into 3 land or coastal radtown layouts on every procedural seed.
  • Structural hitpoints and pickup rules: Carries a fixed 200 hitpoint pool and remains permanently anchored to the monument floor without Hammer pickup.
  • Electrical grid and fuel requirements: Self-contained monument utility that operates immediately without slotting Heavy Fuses at Power Plant.
  • Base crafting and deployable comparison: Pairs with a player-craftable workbench recipe that survivors can build and place inside a Tool Cupboard base.
  • Public access and PvP considerations: Open to all players without building privilege, making surrounding sightlines, safe-zone turrets, and cycle timers critical during loot runs.
